About Calgary

Situated in the province of Alberta in Canada, Calgary is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city of over 1,000,000 people. Friendly, clean and safe, it has a high standard of living.

Calgary is one hour away from the world famous Canadian Rocky Mountains and miles of unspoiled wilderness. A wide variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, fishing and camping are available.

You will find many cultural attractions, diverse restaurants, beautiful parks and pathways in Calgary, with some of the most picturesque natural areas in North America.

The summer season is warm and comfortable with average temperatures around 23 degrees Celsius. In winter, the average temperature is 0 degrees Celsius. Special winds called chinooks warm up the city on a regular basis. All public buildings and houses have central heating.

Calgary has a state-of-the-art health care system with a new Alberta Children's Hospital and a world-class public education system.
